Delaney Mullennix, the Nonprofit Hub Radio Podcast host, interviews Melisa Gallasso, founder & CEO of Galasso Learning Solutions LLC, about nonprofit board’s financial and accounting responsibilities. Galasso, known for her dedication to various awareness campaigns, shares her most passionate cause, infusing a personal touch into the dialogue. She introduces her book, “Money Matters for Nonprofits,” detailing its contents and where to find it. Galasso emphasizes that board members, while not expected to be financial gurus, need a good grasp of basic accounting to function effectively. In closing, Galasso suggests intelligent questions that board members should ask accountants when assessing financial statements, promoting financial literacy as a pillar of successful nonprofit governance.
